The ability to effectively communicate is central to succeeding personally and professionally. While we know this, it may still feel like it’s challenging to confidently and comfortably craft a compelling vision and get others on board with that vision.
This is critical to your success. Crafting a compelling vision and communicating that vision is a key component to getting further in life. After all no one accomplished a big goal alone.
Today’s affirmation is designed to remind you that you are an excellent communicator. You have the skills you need to create a powerful vision for yourself and to get others excited about that vision:
I am articulate and have excellent communication skills.
Communication is an important part of life. I have the necessary communication skills to be incredibly successful. I have the necessary experience and expertise to communicate with anyone, at any time, and in any circumstance.
Before I say anything important, I consider my words carefully. Taking this time allows me to choose the right words and express myself clearly and coherently.
I am free of any apprehension when it comes to communicating with others. I have a high degree of confidence and comfort.
I become more articulate each day. I always know what to say and how to say it. Even in challenging situations, I am able to make intelligent communication decisions. I communicate clearly and pleasantly. Others enjoy listening to me speak and value my opinions.
Occasionally, I might communicate poorly. I realize that people are forgiving and that occasional mistakes only have a minimal effect. I can easily rectify the situation and get the communication back on track. However, I communicate extremely well the majority of the time.
I have excellent listening skills. I realize that communicating also includes hearing the messages of others. I enjoy listening to others share their thoughts and ideas. I consider what I have heard before I respond.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. What can I do to enhance my communication skills?
2. Am I listening to others as well as I could be?
3. With whom do I most need to communicate?
Today, I am feeling especially articulate. The words just seem to flow automatically from my mouth to my listeners’ ears. I am listening intently and communicating fully. I take fully responsibility for all of my communications.
I love Zig Ziglar and his passion for helping people realize their true potential. These 6 principles he speaks about really resonate with me.
1. We generally get from ourselves and others what we expect.
What we think about we bring about. If we have low expectations of ourselves or others, that is what we get.
2. The difference between good and excellent companies is training.
With proper training and a system, everyone has an opportunity to achieve success.
3. Actually, companies that do not train their people and invest in their ability don’t last.
Have you ever seen someone succeed at a job without a system for training and mentoring? I haven’t.
4. You find what you look for in life.
No matter what it is, good or bad, we really do find what we look for in life.
5. Never make a promise without a plan.
If you want to make good on your promises, you have to have a plan of how to achieve it.
6. Happiness, joy, and gratitude are universal if we know what to look for.
Each one of us has the same opportunity to find happiness, joy and gratitude. If we help enough people get what they want in life, we will get what we want. I believe that happiness comes from within, not from outside sources. Being grateful for what we have instead of worrying about what we don’t have keeps us from finding joy and happiness.
