Integrity in all Relationships

In a world obsessed with getting things done faster, sometimes getting things done the right way can take a back seat. The temporary gains you get are never worth the cost of operating without integrity. Even if others on your team or in your industry are taking short cuts and seem to be getting ahead,  you should continue to approach your relationships with integrity.  You are one person away from your next opportunity so handle all relationships with integrity.

“Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody’s going to know whether you did it or not.” ― Oprah Winfrey

Today’s affirmation is a simple reminder of the importance of living and working in integrity:

I approach all relationships with integrity.

I treat every relationship as if it is my only one. The people who come in and out of my life deserve to be treated fairly. I approach all relationships with unquestionable integrity.

I am honest with friends and family. Even when the truth may feel uncomfortable, I do not withhold information or use information to manipulate others.

I am honest with co-workers I am competing against for a promotion. If there is information to be shared among us, I share it. I avoid withholding information for personal gain.

It is important that people can take my words and actions at face value. I feel peace of mind when I am completely honest.

Even though my honesty may produce unfavorable results, I feel better maintaining my integrity.

My focus is to act in accordance with my morals and conscience. If I can be true to myself, I know I can be true to others. I believe my ability to maintain integrity starts from within.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1.           Am I honest with others when I realize they try to deceive me?

2.            Are there relationships I am forced to put aside because the other person does not act with integrity?

3.            What lessons do I teach others who I have direct influence over about relationships and integrity?

Today, I celebrate my relationships. I love the fact that people around me feel safe in my presence. I treat others how I want to be treated. I know friends and strangers alike see my actions as honorable.

Today’s affirmation is a simple reminder that you and you alone are in control of your emotions and emotions:

I am in full control of my emotions and thoughts.

I have the ability to direct my thoughts in any situation.

I choose to have thoughts that serve me. Negative thoughts create emotions and beliefs that are contrary to my purpose. I am always focused on my purpose. In every situation, I can choose to have a thought that serves me or impedes me. I choose to have thoughts that serve me.

By controlling my thoughts, I can control my reality. Directing my thoughts is easy for me.

In difficult times, I am focused on solutions. Only by thinking about solutions am I likely to find an acceptable one.

In pleasant times, I am focused on the experience. Allowing my mind to wander limits the amount of enjoyment I can experience. I am fully in the moment during pleasant times.

Negative emotions are signs that something needs to be corrected. When I experience a negative emotion, I immediately focus on finding an alternative to that emotion.

This is the only time a negative emotion serves a useful purpose.

It can be challenging to control my thoughts and emotions. When my thoughts stray, I gently bring them back to the present. Life can only be lived and experienced in the moment.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1.            When do I find it most challenging to control my thoughts?

2.            When is it easiest to control my thoughts?

3.            How would my life change if I had greater control over my thoughts and emotions?

Today, I keep my thoughts focused on the present. I limit my mind’s tendency to dwell on the past and wonder about the future. I am in full control of my emotions and thoughts.

Simple Generosity Can Impact Others

Sometimes we get so consumed with the big ways that we can make a difference in the lives of others that we forget all the little ways we can make a difference. One of the simplest ways you can make a difference in the lives of others is with simple kindness. How many times have you been going through your day and a simple act of kindness changes your entire day? You have the same ability to extend that gift to others every day.

Today’s affirmation is all about embracing generosity, kindness and respect as a daily practice:

I am generous, kind, and respectful to everyone I meet.

I realize that everyone is unique and I appreciate what each person has to offer. I am generous with each person I meet. I freely give of my time, attention, and support. By treating others so well, I encourage them to respond with kindness. Everyone wins when I am generous.

Kindness is simply a part of who I am. I spread compassion and love wherever I go. I enjoy being kind and receiving it back. I can always find a way to be kind to others. It is easy to be kind, because I genuinely care. When I care about others, they also care about me.

Respect is important, and I am respectful to everyone I meet. Everyone is special and worthy of respect. By reminding myself of this fact, I find it easy to treat others appropriately. I am in awe of each person I meet and want them to know how I feel.

Whenever I find myself being less than generous, kind, or respectful, I take a moment to remind myself that every person is deserving of these things. I refocus myself and behave in a way that is more kind and loving. I am able to reverse the situation quickly and easily.

I realize my power to make everyone I meet feel better or worse. I want everyone to feel better as a result of meeting me.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1.            How can I be more generous, kind, and respectful?

2.            What impact can I have on someone’s day?

3.            How would my life change if I were more generous, kind, or respectful?

Today, I am generous, kind, and respectful to everyone. People are happier because of meeting me. I treat everyone in a positive and loving way.
