Living Requires Boldness and Confidence

Living the life you could and should be living is going to require something that eludes many: boldness and confidence.

If you look at the people you most admire in this world chances are they’ve made bold moves before they experienced success. That’s the way success works.

“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.”

– T.S. Eliot

This week’s affirmation is a powerful one that you may want to refer to over and over again as you build your confidence muscle. When you find yourself seconding guessing or shrinking back from saying, doing, or living the life you are meant to live, say this affirmation out loud and then Just Go Do It:

I am bold and confident.

I am free of doubt and worry. I am confident in my capabilities in any situation. I am bold and confident.

I have the confidence necessary to accomplish any goal or task. I look forward with great anticipation to the experiences that lie ahead of me. I know I can be successful. I am capable. I am skilled.

I realize that life is kind to those with the courage to be bold and strike new ground. I am free of reticence and self-doubt. When I see an opportunity, I seize it quickly and confidently. Boldness is repaid many times over. My luck increases whenever I am bold.

My confidence comes from within. I am free from needing the approval or encouragement of others. I am centered and quietly confident. I know I can accomplish anything that truly matters to me.

My boldness and confidence are like a one-two punch. The combination can overcome any obstacles or challenges that might stand in my way. I foster both qualities every day. I know they are a key component of my success and happiness.

Sometimes, I might have a day where I feel somewhat unsure of myself. These are the days I take a quick break and remember how much I have already accomplished. This reminder serves to recharge my belief in myself. My confidence instantly increases.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. What beliefs limit my confidence?

2. What role models should I look to so I can be bolder?

3. How would my life change for the better if I were bolder or more self-assured?

Today, I am more bold and confident than ever before. Everyone can see my self-assuredness and it gives them confidence in me as well.

Communicate Your Vision Clearly and Confidently

The ability to effectively communicate is central to succeeding personally and professionally. While we know this, it may still feel like it’s challenging to confidently and comfortably craft a compelling vision and get others on board with that vision.

This is critical to your success. Crafting a compelling vision and communicating that vision is a key component to getting further in life. After all no one accomplished a big goal alone.

Today’s affirmation is designed to remind you that you are an excellent communicator. You have the skills you need to create a powerful vision for yourself and to get others excited about that vision:

I am articulate and have excellent communication skills.

Communication is an important part of life. I have the necessary communication skills to be incredibly successful. I have the necessary experience and expertise to communicate with anyone, at any time, and in any circumstance.

Before I say anything important, I consider my words carefully. Taking this time allows me to choose the right words and express myself clearly and coherently.

I am free of any apprehension when it comes to communicating with others. I have a high degree of confidence and comfort.

I become more articulate each day. I always know what to say and how to say it. Even in challenging situations, I am able to make intelligent communication decisions. I communicate clearly and pleasantly. Others enjoy listening to me speak and value my opinions.

Occasionally, I might communicate poorly. I realize that people are forgiving and that occasional mistakes only have a minimal effect. I can easily rectify the situation and get the communication back on track. However, I communicate extremely well the majority of the time.

I have excellent listening skills. I realize that communicating also includes hearing the messages of others. I enjoy listening to others share their thoughts and ideas. I consider what I have heard before I respond.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1.  What can I do to enhance my communication skills?

2.  Am I listening to others as well as I could be?

3.  With whom do I most need to communicate?

Today, I am feeling especially articulate. The words just seem to flow automatically from my mouth to my listeners’ ears. I am listening intently and communicating fully. I take fully responsibility for all of my communications.
