Winning in Life…Live your future today

September 23, 2015

Recently I was in Texas for a national meeting and celebration of accomplishments. It’s always exciting to see the achievements of individuals who have made a decision to learn the skills to live their future today. It’s a different kind of success when you know you’ve personally engaged the skills and created your success. Of course it doesn’t hurt one bit that the founders of our products simply put excellence first.

What are you excited about in life? What do you work for? Personally I work for the freedom to choose the hours I work. To work with people I appreciate and to have a lifestyle that I enjoy.  Owning my own business has required me to learn to be a leader who encourages. To lead myself as well as to lead others.  Are you encouraged where you work? Do people get on their feet and give others standing ovations for accomplishments?  I saw a good deal of that at our meeting. I saw people being celebrated for earning cars top leaders being recognized.  I saw tears of happiness and acclaims of “wow, look at them go.”  You see success isn’t about one person creating a life that is better for them alone, it’s about having a repeatable, sustainable process that is a win/win for our clients, our team members, as well as ourselves.  Isn’t that the American dream?

Win/Win/Win situations. How rare those are in companies today, but I believe it is the only way to work.  Are you ready? I’ll be happy to share with you what has made such a difference in my life, and it will do the same for yours if you’re willing to learn! What is the future you’d like to live today?

Prospects of Success

Amy headshotFrom Me to You: One of the reasons I own my own business is because there is no glass ceiling.  In roles and jobs I see in our town and in other areas our teams are present, their “jobs” are just that, a limited opportunity.  There is usually a “per hour” limit, a “monthly limit” and a long set of expectations.  One of the many advantages of why I chose to own my independent businesses in life was because I didn’t want to face a “glass ceiling” on how much income I could earn in a hour, day, week, or even year.  I didn’t enjoy the propect of being told when to work, where to work, how to work or dress.  My business represents Freedom.  Freedom to live a life I prefer to live with few boundaries for time, vacation, hours I work, days I take off.  Of course every business requires effort, involvement, and excellence, but think about it, do you want to do your best only to make the same dismal wage for that effort? Personally I prefer to be rewarded for my diligence, I enjoy knowing that when I do my job well it will be rewarded. I can think of better things to do than work 9 to 5 in an office.  How about you?

Is Your Calendar Yours?

September 9, 2015

Amy headshotOne of the things I appreciate about owning my own independent business is that I have the key to my calendar.  Gone are the days that I can’t be off work for something that matters to me. My schedule is planned around my needs, and the needs of my life, not the arbitrary hours of the work day.  Working with others who value time with the people and activities they enjoy also means that respect is back in the workplace.  I know that my work requires time, but I also know that my life requires play time, vacation time, visit time and time for those people in my life that matter to me?  Need to be in another part of the country for ten days? Not a problem, we are not limited to a territory.  Need to work only certain days of the month? Absolutely allowed, because I set the time and days I work.

Having the time to go to the barn without hurrying. Knowing that my life can be planned with the activities and options I enjoy as priority is just one of the reasons I love my role. Being able to take time to fly out to one of my team members or to be present with a friend is such a luxury in a routine employment situation, but it is an every day option as the owner of an indepedent business.

What is on your calendar? What would it look like if money and time to do it wasn’t a roadblock to your future? I’ve owned four successful businesses, I know the path to leading and how to be a strong owner of your own business. Are you ready to call and share your questions about how to begin on your own path to success? Let’s set a time on your calendar today!
